Terms of use

These terms apply to the VARAK application and to varak.app. VARAK is an independent product made by an individual developer, Erdal B. ("the developer"). Please read the two sections in capitals — they limit what you can claim from the developer.

Licence

VARAK is licensed to you, not sold. You may install and use it on Macs you own or control, in line with the Mac App Store terms. You may not resell, rent, sublicense, decompile or reverse-engineer the app, or remove any notice from it, except where the law expressly allows it despite this restriction.

Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement and its refund policy apply to your purchase; where those terms conflict with these, Apple's terms govern the transaction. The developer cannot issue refunds — Apple can.

Your documents are yours

The developer has no access to the files you open. VARAK processes everything locally, so nothing you edit is seen, stored or handled by the developer at any point.

NO WARRANTY

VARAK IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. The developer does not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, that every PDF will open, render, edit, convert or save correctly, or that recognised text, redaction, encryption or signatures will meet any particular legal, regulatory or evidentiary standard.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE DEVELOPER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, DOCUMENTS, PROFITS, REVENUE OR BUSINESS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE VARAK. THE DEVELOPER'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO VARAK SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR IT.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, and any statutory rights you have as a consumer. If you are a consumer, those rights stand regardless of anything above.

Use your own judgement on important documents

PDF is a large and inconsistently implemented format. Keep a copy of any original you value before editing it, and check the result before relying on it. Redaction, password protection and digital signatures are provided as tools, not as a guarantee of confidentiality, security or legal validity in your jurisdiction; where the stakes are high, verify the output independently.

Third-party components

VARAK includes open-source components under permissive licences, listed in the open-source notices.

Changes and governing law

These terms may be updated; the current version is always the one on this page. They are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections available to you where you live.
